Hear that rattle? Alert the Wards.
Another basement’s getting flooded with a rowdy and exuberant young bunch.
They got a new style, and their tender ears are getting bent.
Stop the rattle, you stop the event.
There’s no sense in bringing law enforcement to this.
The kids are merely living in this steam.
They got a new style forged in cultural discontent.
Stop the rattle, you stop the event.
Sure is getting crowded, fixed capacity.
That‘s what I call a party, yeah, welcome to the team.
You know, we’ve got a code. Here’s the code.
Sweet D Eddie, spinning samples into gravy.
The speaker’s blown, surely no one is complaining.
A little obscure, sure, but I knew what he meant.
If you stop the rattle, you stop the event.
Use a stick to poke what’s left of the creation.
Crack the lid up on some fresh imagination.
A five-spot in the bucket, is an evening well-spent
Stop the rattle, you stop the event
Here’s the code: 8361*

A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass. If you can imagine The Evens with a slightly more funky, aggressive sound like Fugazi... that's what you get! And there's no way that can ever go wrong. What a great debut album!! smiledozer
